Jim Surkovich Named Assistant District Executive for Maintenance in PennDOT D-2

CLEARFIELD – Jim Surkovich has been named as assistant district executive for maintenance in PennDOT District 2, according to Kevin Kline, PennDOT District 2 executive.

“Jim brings decades of experience to his new assignment and we are confident that his leadership will be an asset as PennDOT continues its efforts to modernize and elevate customer service. Jim’s PennDOT knowledge in general and his maintenance knowledge in particular will allow him to jump into his new responsibilities quickly.” Kline said.

In his new position, Surkovich will oversee the day-to-day maintenance efforts of 670 employees across the nine counties served by District 2, as well as maintenance staff in the District Office. District 2 covers Cameron, Centre, Clearfield, Clinton, Elk, Juniata, McKean, Mifflin, and Potter counties and maintains more than 3,700 miles of state-owned roadway and more than 2,200 state-owned bridges.

Surkovich began permanent employment with PennDOT in the spring of 1981. He has served the District in many capacities including Bridge Engineer and most recently served as the Maintenance Operations Engineer. He officially began his new duties June 25.

Surkovich, is a Civil Engineer graduate of Penn State University and holds his Professional Engineers license. He and his wife Sherri reside in Clearfield with their dog Max.
