CLEARFIELD – Clearfield County District Attorney, William A. Shaw, Jr., announced Clearfield County’s Fugitive of the Week for the week of April 2, 2012.
Shaw identified the Fugitive as Frank Evans, age 21, of Erie, Pennsylvania.
Shaw stated that Evans is wanted for failure to appear at criminal call on March 22, 2012.
On Feb. 22, 2011, Trooper John Eisman of the Pennsylvania State Police, DuBois Barracks, filed a criminal complaint charging Evans with: 1) firearms not to be carried without a license, F3; and 2) possession of a controlled substance, M.
An affidavit of probable cause filed by Eisman states that on Feb. 22, 2011, the Pennsylvania State Police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle traveling on Interstate 80. Upon searching the vehicle, troopers found a loaded handgun and two ounces of marijuana. Evans was interviewed by troopers and relayed that he was the occupant who had the gun, and that the marijuana was his. Upon further investigation, it was found that Evans was not the licensed owner of the handgun, and that the owner was not present in the vehicle.
A preliminary hearing was held on Sept. 2, 2011, at which time all charges were held to court. On March 22, 2012, Evans failed to appear for criminal call and a bench warrant was issued for his arrest.
Evans is described as follows:
Race: Black
Sex: Male
Height: 5 feet, 7 inches
Eyes: Brown
Hair: Black
Anyone with knowledge of Evans’ location is asked to call Clearfield County Crime Stoppers at 800-376-4700. All calls to Crime Stoppers are confidential.
