CURWENSVILLE — In front of a packed house on Pink Out Night, the Curwensville Lady Tide volleyball team raised their record to 8-7 with a 3-0 sweep of the Lady Bisons of Clearfield.
The scores were 25-20, 25-23, and 25-13. Clearfield dropped to 5-11 with the loss.
Lady Tide head coach said this was a big win as her team readies for the post-season, “It was a good win for us as this was the last match that counted towards our points for seeding for district playoffs. It was our annual Pink Out Night and it was nice to win in front of a packed gymnasium. Again I was pleased with our serving tonight. It has really improved since the beginning of the season and that’s a credit to the girls working hard in practice and understanding that you don’t want to give an opponent a point on a missed serve. Katrina Seaburn, Savannah Strickland, Ricki Wells and Tierra Shope again did a nice job. Offensive-wise they are understanding that you don’t always have to have that killer hit, you just have to find the holes. Again credit to Abby Johnson Hannah Bressler on the defensive side bringing the pass up for Madi Peterman  and Olivia to run the offense. I told the girls we have to finish out strong these last two matches – this is the time of the season we have to eliminate the mental mistakes and be ready for the playoffs.”

The Lady Tide junior varsity picked up the win by the scores of 25-14 and 25-19 to also raise their record to 8-7.
Clearfield closes out their regular season on Tuesday night when they host Central Mountain. The Lady Tide travel to Mo Valley on Wednesday night before their final playoff tune up on Thursday when they host Brockway.
