DUBOIS – The City of DuBois is looking into metered parking seven days a week, 24 hours a day. The idea was proposed by the City Parking Authority.
City Manager John “Herm” Suplizio recommended that at the next work session meeting, Oct 20, be attended by members of the Parking Authority to discuss the matter. Suplizio explained that after the issue was made public after the previous work session meeting he had received correspondence from two local churches. They had requested for an exception on Sunday.
No members of the Parking Authority were present to discuss the matter. City council member Edward Walsh stated he had been at that Parking Authority meeting and they had not considered the impact on churches.
The Parking Authority had also recommended changes to the Municipal Building parking. It was suggested at the work session a trip could be made outside to see the discussed changes in person.
