Joanne D. Blakely, 68, of Osceola Mills died Friday at the Mount Nittany Medical Center, State College.
Born July 14, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Robert A. and Helen E. (Lazor) Miller. She was a member of the Osceola Mills United Methodist Church and heavily involved with the Relay for Life in Philipsburg.
She was retired from the PennDOT District 2 office, where she had worked as an accounting assistant.
Mrs. Blakely graduated from the Philipsburg-Osceola High School in 1960.
She wed Edward L. Blakely Sr. Jan. 3, 1961, whom survives her at home. She was preceded in death by her parents.
She’s survived by two daughters, Tammy Sue Beninsky and her husband, Martin of Treverton and Kimberly Ann Merryman and her husband, Tim of Osceola Mills and one son, Edward L. Blakely Jr., and his wife, Christine of LaFayette, NY.
Also surviving are seven grandchildren, Michael Scott Blakely, Kevin Edward Blakely, Robert August Blakely, Martin Michael Beninsky, Mary-Christine Elizabeth Merryman, Timothy Joseph Merryman and Joseph Anthony Merryman.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Osceola Mills United Methodist Church with the Pastor Jennifer C. Heikes officiating. Burial will be in the Philipsburg Cemetery.
Friends will be received from 2 – 4 p.m. and 6 – 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Heath Funeral Home, Osceola Mills, and from 10 a.m. until the hour of services Wednesday at the church.
