University Park, Pa. — Penn State’s Big Ten clash with Indiana on Saturday, Nov. 20 at FedExField in Landover, Md., has been set for a noon ET kick.
The Big Ten Network will televise the conference contest to a national audience. The game also will air on the Penn State Sports Network and www.GoPSUsports.com.
The contest is the Nittany Lions’ 11th announced start time this season. The kick time and television network for Penn State’s Nov. 27 Senior Day clash with Michigan State in Beaver Stadium most likely will not be announced until Sunday, Nov. 21.
Penn State will be making its third appearance of the season on the Big Ten Network and seventh appearance on the network over the past two seasons.
The Big Ten Network is available in approximately 75 million homes in the United States and Canada on DirecTV, Dish Network, Verizon FiOS, AT&T U-Verse and 300 cable providers, including Atlantic Broadband, Cablevision, CATV Service, Comcast, Consolidated Communications, Kuhn Communications, Nittany Media, RCN, Service Electric, Shen-Heights TV and Time-Warner in Pennsylvania.
Armstrong, Blue Ridge, Adams and MetroCast Cable, though, do not carry the Big Ten Network in Pennsylvania. More than 35,000 Penn State alumni live in the communities served by the four cable providers in Pennsylvania and the Youngstown, Ohio area.
This Saturday’s home game with Northwestern and the Nov. 13 game at Ohio State will be ABC regional telecasts at 3:30 p.m., airing nationally on ESPN2 or ESPN outside the ABC coverage area.
Coach Joe Paterno’s squad beat Indiana, 31-20, last year to take a 13-0 lead in the series. The Hoosiers host Iowa this week and visit Wisconsin on Nov. 13 before meeting the Nittany Lions.
Penn State has appeared on TV in 198 of its last 200 games. Future Penn State contests may be selected by the networks under the six and 12-day provisions of their contracts with the Big Ten Conference.
The purchase of all tickets for the game at FedExField benefits a great cause. Starting October 1, the NFL’s Washington Redskins began to generously donate five percent of ticket sales generated for the Penn State vs. Indiana game (up to a maximum of $150,000) to Penn State’s Dance Marathon. THON, the nation’s largest student-run philanthropic event, benefits The Four Diamonds Fund and pediatric cancer research at the Hershey Medical Center.
