CLEARFIELD –The following information is an update for PennDOT’s Hospital Avenue/Dixon Avenue realignment project in DuBois for the week of Nov. 1. All work is weather dependent.
On Wednesday night (Nov. 3) and Thursday (Nov. 4) during the day, the contractor will be excavating the existing roadway and placing concrete pavement in the intersection of South Main Street, Hospital Avenue, Dixon Avenue, and South Main Street Extension. Traffic will be restricted to one lane through this area while the contractor performs the work. Motorists are encouraged to use alternate routes. Traffic delays are expected.
• The contractor will continue to work on Dixon Avenue. Dixon Avenue will continue to be one-way between Smithfield Street and South Main Street until later in the week when it will be re-opened to two-way traffic.
• On Tuesday, Nov. 2, the contractor will be installing new concrete curbs on South Main Street between Grove Avenue and Dixon Avenue. Expect minor delays.
• Motorists are advised to watch for slow moving and stopped vehicles through the entire work zone.
The overall project will re-align Hospital Avenue with Dixon Avenue. Work includes roadway widening, new traffic signals, and improved access to DRMC. The job is scheduled to run through late November of this year. SET, Inc. of Lowellville, Ohio, is the contractor on the $4.2 million project.
