HARRISBURG – PennDOT has added a new feature to its Web site to help residents who have lost their driving privileges and are working to restore them.

“Pennsylvanians have asked us to add the option to request license restoration requirements information to our growing list of online driver and vehicle services,” said PennDOT Secretary Allen D. Biehler, P.E. “We are listening to our customers and are pleased to add this online service.”

Those affected can now go online for free to request and print their restoration requirements letter, which outlines certain criteria that must be met before driving privileges can be restored.

Since each suspended driver’s situation is unique and requirements may vary, the letter clearly explains the specific steps that an individual must take.

To request and print restoration requirements, visit www.dmv.state.pa.us, and select “Request a Restoration Requirements Letter,” under “Online Driver and Vehicle Services.”

Users will need to provide their driver’s license number, their date of birth and the last four digits of their Social Security number.

PennDOT’s online driver and vehicle services are always available and include driver’s license and photo ID card renewals; vehicle registration renewal; driver-history services; change of address; exam scheduling; checking personalized license plate availability; and adding the organ donor designation to the driver’s license/photo ID card. There are no additional fees for using online services.
