Police Report: Clearfield PSP

– Police reported an incident of simple assault/harassment at approximately 12:50 a.m. Sunday at a private residence along Blackburn Road, Matera, Clearfield County. Troy I. Swoope, 40, of Glen Hope allegedly assaulted a 74-year-old Glen Hope man by punching him in the face. As a result, the alleged victim sustained a cut bottom lip, which required four stitches.

Swoope was taken into custody and arraigned in front of Magisterial District Judge James L. Hawkins on charges of simple assault and harassment. Bail was set at $5,000. His preliminary hearing has been set for 9:30 a.m. July 21 at the Clearfield County Jail.

– Police reported an incident of harassment at the playground at the Curwensville Commons in Curwensville Borough, Clearfield County. A 12-year-old Curwensville female juvenile reportedly pushed a 4-year-old Curwensville female to the ground.

– Police reported an incident of driving under the influence at approximately 2:36 a.m. Sunday along state Route 53 near McCartney Road in Bigler Township, Clearfield County. Troopers initiated a traffic stop and determined a 35-year-old Madera woman was under the influence of alcohol. Charges will be filed through the district court.

– Police reported an incident of simple assault at 1:45 a.m. Saturday at a Calvary Road address in Pike Township, Clearfield County. Two Clearfield males reportedly engaged in a mutual fight.

– Police reported a single vehicle accident at approximately 2:50 a.m. Sunday along state Route 53 approximately one mile south of Madera in Bigler Township, Clearfield County. Marshall D. Siple, 30, of DuBois was traveling north on SR 53, when a deer entered the roadway.

The Siple vehicle was unable to avoid impacting the deer with the left front of his 2008 Ford Crown Victoria. Neither Siple nor his occupants suffered injuries as a result of the mishap. All three occupants were wearing their seatbelts. The vehicle was driven from the scene.

– Police reported a protection from abuse violation at approximately 7:49 a.m. July 9 at an Egypt Road residence in Bradford Township, Clearfield County. Scott Allan Hackett, 44, of Howard arrived at 42-year-old Moshannon woman’s previously said residence.

– She currently has an active PFA order that prohibits him from any residence where she’s living. Charges of indirect criminal attempt were filed through the district court. An arrest warrant has been issued for Hackett. Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to contact the Clearfield State Police at 814-857-3800.  

– Police reported a single vehicle accident at approximately 12:05 a.m. Saturday along the Old Erie Pike near the Lighthouse Church in Boggs Township, Clearfield County. A 24-year-old Philipsburg woman lost control of her vehicle while negotiating a left curve in the roadway. Police determined that the woman was traveling at an unsafe speed. She was cited for the same as a result.

Police reported found property along state Route 879 Monday in Covington Township, Clearfield County. An 18-speed girl’s bicycle was found by police. The owner can claim the bike by contact the Clearfield State Police at 814-857-3800.
