Doris O. Lucas, 93, of Pottersdale, passed away on May 8, 2010 at Mt. Laurel Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born on March 3, 1917 in Pottersdale, the daughter of Theodore B. and Caroline (Stroup) Ditty.
Mrs. Lucas was a homemaker all her life.
She was a member of the Community Alliance Church of Karthaus where she taught Sunday School and was involved in the Women’s Missionary Prayer Team.
Mrs. Lucas is survived by three children; Althea Lucas McPherson of Orange City, FL., David Lucas and his wife Jenny of Hurricane, WV., and Herbert Lucas and his wife Donna of Karthaus, four grandchildren; Jeffrey Lucas and his wife Stefanie, Aimee Jo Lucas Taylor and her husband Scott, Heather Lucas Corl and her husband Bill and Troy Lucas and his wife Angela, five great grandchildren, a great great grandson, two step grandchildren, two step great granddaughters, four sisters; Edith Ditty of Pottersdale, Carolyn Mersch of Des Moines, IA., Irma Clark of Pottersdale and Letha Plubell of Morrisdale, a brother, Theodore Ditty of Calhoun, MO. and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clair T. Lucas whom she married on May 28, 1936 and who passed away on April 8, 1993, two sisters; Bernice Jolloff and Grace Bosquet and five brothers; Clayton, Harold, Leslie, Norman and Herbert Ditty.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, May 13, 2010 at the Community Alliance Church of Karthaus with Pastor Daniel Beeman officiating. Interment will be in Oak Hill Memorial Cemetery, Karthaus.
Friends will be received at the Bennett and Houser Funeral Home, Inc., of Clearfield on May 12 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and at the church on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of services.
