Hilda G. Hoover, 93 of Windy Hillage of the Presbyterian Home in Philipsburg, passed away on Jan. 13 at Windy Hill Village.
Born on July 15, 1916, she was the daughterof the late Camby and June (McGuire) Gorman.
She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Philipsburg where she was also a member of the United Methodist Women. She was a former member of the Philipsburg Country Club and a homemaker and mother.
In 1933 in Hitchens, NY, she married Samuel C. Hoover, who preceded her in death on Feb. 3, 1975.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, son Thomas G. Hoover and sister Lillian Gorman.
She is survived by daughter Suzanne H. Smith and her husband of Exton; grandchildren Peter Smith and his wife Christene of Glenmoore, Kathleen Smith of Brookhaven and Amy Hines and her husband David of Jersey Shore and three great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on April 24 at 11:30 a.m. at the Beezer-Heath Funeral Home, 719 E. Spruce St., Philipsburg, with the Rev. Brenda K. Leigey officiating. Burial will be at the Port Matilda Cemetery. There will be no public visitation.
