Police Report: DCPD

April 17

  • Police were dispatched to meet with a woman in reference to an assault. She stated that she witnessed a man assault and threaten a woman. At that time in the incident she left to call the police. Officers went to the scene but no one answered the door. Officers were advised that both parties left for the scene. Police checked again later with the same result.
  • Police were called to the alley beind the car wash on 400 W. DuBois Ave. for a report of several men beating a woman then dragging her into a vehicle. Officers spoke with a person who witnessed the assault. The suspect was identified as Matthew Watson. He and the woman reportedly got into an altercation in a bar and were told to leave. She was then put in the vehicle by Watson and taken to his residence. Watson was arrested and arraigned. He was released on $2,500 bail.
  • While on patrol officers saw a vehicle run a stop sign at the intersection of West Park Avenue and North Franklin Street. The vehicle continued and ran another stop sign. Officers stopped the vehicle. The driver had an odor of alcohol. She was arrested and later transported to her residence.

April 18

  • Police were dispatched to the 500 block of South Main Street for a report of a man with a gun threatening himself and others. Officers were assisted by the Sandy Township Police Department and the Pennsylvania State Police. When officers arrived the gun had already been taken from the man and was secured. The man was intoxicated and depressed and wanted to go to the emergency room to speak with someone. Officers spoke with those involved and they declined to have charges filed.
  • Police were called for a motor-vehicle accident on the 600 block of Juniata Street. While responding officers were advised that the vehicle was in the creek and people were still in the vehicle. When officers arrived they noticed severe damage to the front end of the vehicle. According to police the vehicle was traveling on Juniata Street when it crossed over to the opposite side, hit the curb, went through a rock pile, through some brush, over an embankment and into the creek. Officers spoke with those in the vehicle and noted an odor of alcohol coming from the driver. The passenger was also intoxicated. She was unable to walk home and get a ride due to her intoxication. Police had to leave to handle another call, during which time the woman walked somewhere. The driver will be cited.
