For the first time this season, the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series will have to wait another day to go green.
Rain at the Martinsville Speedway has forced officials to postpone the Goody’s Fast Pain Relief 500 to Monday afternoon. Drizzle began falling shortly after the invocation, and jet driers went on track to begin drying. Race central hoped to get the race started by 3 p.m.
However, rain picked up and the drying efforts were called off, as rain was expected to fall throughout the afternoon.
The race will go green Monday afternoon at Noon ET. FOX will handle the broadcast.
