Clearfield — After being co-champions in their inaugural visit to the Clearfield \”Past Your Prime\” Over-40 Modified Fast-pitch Tournament last year, Aqua Specialists of Mechanicsburg left no doubt that they were the top team in 2009.
In going 4-0 in the 10 team double-elimination tournament, Aqua only gave up nine runs while plating 47. Aqua defeated the Bedford Over-the-Hillbillies 9-4 in the final behind the piching of Bill Allen and the hitting of Ray Shefter, who belted a three run home run.
Bedford had lost their opening round game to Aqua, then ran off five consecutive wins in the consy bracket to prove they were the second best team in the tourney.
Bob Boob Garage was the highest Clearfield finisher with their fourth place finish.
The 15th Annual charity event, with Toys for Tots the main benefactor, had a top six finish of:
