CLEARFIELD – How would you like to be a Queen for a day? Have you ever wondered what it takes to become a Fair Queen? If you are a young lady, ages 13 to 20 years old, you can find out what it takes to be the Fair Queen by registering for our “Queen for a Day” event to be held during the 2009 Clearfield County Fair.

The event opens with a Fashion Show hosted by Suzy’s Fashions of Hyde, Fashion Bug of Clearfield, and Trousseaux of DuBois. The Fashion Show is open to the public! Participants of the event will go through different stations learning more about agriculture, public speaking, and tips on hair and makeup. This is a great way for young girls to realize their own potential, to learn more on agriculture and the Fair Queen Program. A representative from Suzy’s Fashions, Fashion Bug, Trousseaux, JC Penneys, Clearfield County Career & Technology Center Cosmetology Program, Merle Norman, Avon, and the Penn State Cooperative Extension Office 4H Department will be present.

Our very own, Miss Pennsylvania, the Pennsylvania State Fair Queen, and other fair queens from neighboring counties will be on hand to work with you and offer great advice as well as pose for photographs with the “Queen for a Day” participants.

“Queen for a Day” will take place on Thursday, Aug. 6 starting at noon in the Grove, but there is a limit of 50 entrants to the event. So if you would like to learn more about the Clearfield County “Queen for a Day” event, visit the Clearfield Fair office for an application, pick one up at WOKW radio station or any of our representative businesses, or visit here.

Don’t miss out on this great opportunity. If you have a daughter or granddaughter, age 13 to 20 who is interested in finding out what it takes to be a Clearfield County Fair Queen contestant, sign her up today! This event will help you to grow and benefit far into the future! Registrations accepted until July 3.
