WEST DECATUR – A Bigler woman was charged for allegedly using funds from the Wallaceton-Boggs Municipal Authority for her own gain.
State police in Clearfield allege that Cynthia Carlson used authority funds to purchase personal items, including car repairs, home heating fuel, electric bills and items from local retail stores.
Police alleged that in some instances Carlson, who worked for the authority for about a year, forged authority member signatures to make purchases. Police also reported that Carlson allegedly used WBMA credit card to purchase fuel for her vehicle.
The total amount taken was reported at $11,500. The incidents are reported to have occurred between April 17, 2008 through March 19, 2009.
Carlson was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Michael Rudella on 20 counts of forgery, 28 counts of access device fraud, 62 counts of theft by unlawful taking and 62 counts of receiving stolen property.
Rudella set her bail at $20,000 unsecured. Her preliminary hearing is set for July 1.
