DUBOIS – The Downtown DuBois Revitalization Group Façade Grant recipients have been announced for 2009. $30,000 in grant funding is given annually to the Downtown DuBois group to assist business and building owners with front exterior improvements like painting, re-pointing, window repair and replacement, awnings and signage with historic preservation as a prime consideration. This funding is made available through the PA Department of Community and Economic Development to assist the small business owner and property owners. The grant is a matching grant (50/50 match, up to a maximum of $5000), so the recipient pays the balance. This year’s local recipients are:

Advanced Furniture Solutions
Marcy’s School of Dance/LaBrasca Building
Stephanie Rindosh State Farm
Uniformity/RLA Vacuum Cleaner Building
PA Academy of Cosmetology/ New annex
Reitz Theater
Scrapbook Nook
Luigi’s Ristorante
First United Presbyterian Church

Please be on the look-out for these downtown DuBois building improvements through-out the construction season. The combination of the last two years awards means that a total of 14 buildings will be assisted by this program. Over the course of the program, these building improvements will have a very noticeable impact on the appearance of downtown and encourage additional investment and commerce. Any questions on this or any Downtown Revitalization Group program, please call Julie Stewart at 814-371-3064.
