PHILIPSBURG – On Wednesday, April 16, potential small business owners can attend a three-hour workshop geared towards financing their venture. The event will be held at the Moshannon Valley Economic Development Partnership office, 200 Shady Lane, Philipsburg, at 9:00 a.m.
The workshop will focus on available funding followed by loan application basics. The application portion is a “hands-on” approach in which attendees will complete loan applications and perhaps receive preliminary approval.
Representatives from the lending community and state and federal agencies will facilitate the workshop.
There is no cost to attend the workshop. However attendees wishing to apply for a loan at the workshop must have their social security number available, as well as a photocopy of their drivers’ license. Individuals who are not U.S. citizens must provide evidence of Legal Permanent Resident Alias status. Persons who already own a business are encouraged to bring their federal tax identification number and a business checkbook.
