Local Country Music Artist to be Featured on National TV Show

CLEARFIELD – Clearfield’s very own Nashville recording country music artist, Jerry Schickling, will be featured on a nationally broadcast hunting television show Tuesday, Feb. 19.

The show, Pennsylvania Back Country, will air on The Sportsman Channel at 7:30 p.m. and is available to local Atlantic Broadband customers on channel 65.

This will be part one of a two part show highlighting Schickling and his Lone Pine Outfitters guiding service, and hunter Chad Heintzelman of Bloomsburg during the 2007 Pennsylvania elk hunt.

Another notable aspect of the show is that Jerry and two members of his touring band North Country, Murph Martell and Mark Kos, wrote and perform the new theme song that opens every episode of the show. In addition to that, Martell will be joining Schicklikng in the show as he cooks up some fine cuisine at camp, and also doing a little acoustic country music jamming for all the hunters.

Mark Hoffer, executive producer of the show puts it this way:
“This hunt on TV in the two week series is nothing like you have ever seen before with behind the scenes footage most shows would not show. We, I feel, really give people the true hunt and not a cut down version of the elk hunt only, but some of the funny parts and other entertaining aspects of the show as well”.

The first episode of the show will be re-aired on Thursday morning at 8 a.m., Friday at 12:30 p.m., and Saturday at 2 a.m. Tune in Feb. 26 for the finale of the adventure.
