UNIVERSITY PARK – Penn State Police are investigating a report of a sexual assault that allegedly occurred at around 8:30 p.m. Thursday in a parking lot on the west side of Beaver Stadium, adjacent to Curtin Road and University Drive.
A student, reported that sometime between 8:30 p.m. and 9 p.m. an unknown man approached her from behind claiming to have a knife. He then reportedly sexually assaulted her and fled on foot.
The suspect is described as being taller than 5′ feet, 5 inches, white and smelling of cigarette smoke. He also was wearing a long-sleeved shirt.
Police are asking that anyone with information about this reported incident or anyone who may have been in the area of The Bryce Jordan Center, Beaver Stadium or Stadium West at the time of the reported attack contact University Police at 814-863-1111 or stop by 26 Eisenhower Parking Deck.
Anyone wishing to provide information but remain anonymous can do so through “Silent Witness.” Information also can be reported to the Centre County Crime Stoppers at 1-877-99CRIME. A cash reward of $1,000 could be awarded to the individual(s) that provides information leading to an arrest.
Police urge University community members to use the University Police Escort Service at 865-WALK, walk on well-lit paths, walk in groups and report suspicious behavior or individuals immediately to police at 863-1111 or 911.
