HAZEN – One man is dead after a two-vehicle accident that happened Friday morning in Warsaw Township, Jefferson County.
State police at DuBois report that Kevin W. Wice Jr., 28, of Oil City was traveling north on state Route 28 at about 10:25 a.. when he saw several vehicles stopped in his lane for a vehicle that was turning left onto Egypt Road. Wice steered his tractor-trailer to avoid an accident. In doing so, the rig crossed into the southbound lane and into a yard.
A van driven by David E. Hodgdon, 64, was traveling south at the tie, striking the Wice’s trailer.
Hodgdon was pronounced dead at the scene by Jefferson County Coroner Bernard Snyder. He was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.
Wice was not injured and was also wearing his seat belt.
Police were assisted at the scene by the Warsaw Township Fire Department.
