HOUTZDALE – A guard at the State Correctional Institution at Houtzdale was injured after an inmate reportedly assaulted him.
The incident happened June 9 at about 7:30 p.m. when Christopher A. Balmer, 29, an inmate at the prison assaulted a prison guard.
State police at Clearfield did not release the name of the guard, but did say he was a 36-year-old man.
The investigation into the incident continues.
