DUBOIS – A registered sex offender who failed to report his new address to authorities waived his right to a preliminary hearing Friday.
Michael Pulchtopek of DuBois was convicted of sex crimes in Massachusetts and is listed as a registered sexual offender, according to court documents filed in Clearfield County.
An officer with the DuBois City Police Department received a report of Pulchtopek living at an Olive Avenue address who failed to register with Pennsylvania authorities.
The officer checked with Pulchtopek’s employer and learned he had been living in DuBois since May 2006.
The National Sex Offender Public Registry lists Pulchtopek’s Massachusetts offense as indecent assault and battery on a person under the age of 14.
In Pennsylvania, Pulchtopek now faces a misdemeanor charge of failing to comply with registration as a sex offender.
He remains free on unsecured bail while he awaits the next steps in the court process.
