CLEARFIELD – Two people accused of breaking into homes to steal copper piping appeared in sentencing court on Tuesday. Only one person went through the process, however.
Megan E. Kline, 19, Johnsonburg, was sentenced to six months in Clearfield County Jail for her role in the burglaries of homes Shaw Street, Mt. Joy Road and Daisy Street. Kline also received two years concurrent probation on charges of criminal conspiracy to commit burglary, burglary, and criminal conspiracy to commit theft by unlawful taking. She was also ordered to pay fines and court costs.
Co-defendant, Daniel A. Aiello, 21 of Johnsonburg, had his case moved back to the trial list after the Clearfield County President Judge Fredric J. Ammerman gave him an ultimatum. While Aiello was listed as being represented by the public defender, he informed the judge that Steve Jarrett was his counsel. According to Ammerman, Jarrett had never entered an appearance as Aiello’s attorney. Ammerman told Aiello he could take the plea agreement or send the case back to the trial list. Aiello chose to send it back to the trial list.
