Bradford Township Readying for Bicentennial Celebration

WOODLAND – Bradford Township will soon be celebrating its bicentennial.

The celebration will start off with a vesper service April 29 at 6 p.m. at the Old Bradford Church.

Throughout the summer, there will also be various types of activities including a fishing derby and a to-be-announced big event in August.

Committee members plan to provide memorabilia for sale including T-shirts and embroidered hats commemorating the 200-year celebration.

One of the highlights will be a cookbook for sale. The bicentennial committee is asking anyone who would like to contribute a recipe in memory of or in honor of a loved one or those who have a recipe to pick up a form at the Bradford Township municipal building at 2289 Barrett Road, Suite B, Woodland. Recipes may be dropped off or mailed  to the same address.

Anyone who wishes to make donations to the bicentennial celebration can do so by contacting the township building. At the township supervisors’ regular meeting this week, they voted unanimously to donate $1,000 for this special event.
