PHILIPSBURG – A 14-year-old girl was found to have a razor blade in her purse on Monday at the Philipsburg-Osceola Senior High School.
According to Philipsburg-based state police, another student informed school officials that the girl had the razor blade. When questioned, the girl gave the standard-sized blade over to officials.
Tpr. Michael Wasilko stated in his report that it did not appear the girl attempted to use the razor for any purpose or that she ever removed it from her purse. Wasilko said that the girl apparently had forgotten the razor was in her purse.
Wasilko stated that the possession of such an item or any cutting instrument on school property which is not being used for school related activities is a violation of the Pennsylvania Crimes Code. Such a violation would result in a first degree misdemeanor.
The girl will be charged at a later date in Centre County Juvenile Court with a possession of weapon on school property violation.
