CLEARFIELD – The Community Christmas dinner sponsored by the Clearfield Presbyterian Church will celebrate its 10th year of bringing joy and fellowship when volunteers serve an expected 500 traditional holiday meals Christmas Day.
“The church began the dinner so that no one would be alone on Christmas and our purpose is still the same. We invite everyone to come and enjoy a meal together with friends, celebrating the birth of Jesus,” said Jan Musser, a member of the organization committee.
Dinner will be served from 2-5 p.m. in Westminister Hall at the church, at the corner of East Pine and North Second streets in Clearfield. Deliveries and take outs will begin at 12:30 p.m. The meal includes turkey or ham, mashed potatoes, stuffing, gravy, green bean casserole and pie.
Deliveries to shut-ins can be arranged by calling 765-6352 or 765-3081. Volunteers to set up Christmas Eve or work Christmas Day should call Committee Chairman Mark Dymond at 765-6392. Food donations should be dropped off Christmas Eve between noon and 2 p.m.
Pies, including sugar-free ones, are still needed, Musser noted.
“During this milestone anniversary, we want to emphasize the fellowship and coming together to celebrate this special day. We hope everyone who needs to will join us,” she added.
