CLEARFIELD – A car that went missing from Blair County turned up this week in Clearfield Borough, and police apprehended two suspects after a short foot chase.
A 17-year-old boy and a 16-year-old boy were alleged to have left a youth home before stealing a car in Tyrone. State police at Clearfield said the 1998 Ford Escort was recovered along Nichols Street in Clearfield late Tuesday night after troopers received information from Hollidaysburg-based state police.
Troopers saw the vehicle in Clearfield Borough at about 11:20 p.m. Tuesday traveling on Nichols Street. At that time, troopers pulled the car over.
The boys ran for a short distance, but police were able to take the pair into custody.
They were turned over to Clearfield County Juvenile Probation officers. From there, they were taken to Centre County.
