CLEARFIELD – Take a ride around Clearfield Borough.
If the suggestion just about makes your skin crawl, then you likely live, work or play in the municipality and know that it is in the middle of an extensive sanitary sewer project.
The first part of the project is nearing completion with West Side and portions of downtown.
Advertisements went out at the end of the week to advertise for Phase II, which will cover Fourth Street to Cemetery Road, Cherry Street to Uni-Mart and Walnut Street to Sheridan Road and the Clearfield Bypass.
Todd Banks, borough engineer with Stiffler, McGraw and Associates, said counsel is allowing for bids to be submitted for each of two projects or both together.
When bids are opened Nov. 16, council will have some choices.
“We’ll have the optionto pick and choose what is best,” McGraw said.
The start date for the next phase is March 1, a date McGraw said would allow some of the current work to wrap up before new projects are taken on.
