CLEARFIELD – During area parades, children know to bring along a bag so that they can easily carry home bubble gum, hard candy and other treats that are passed out along the route.
For the Clearfield County Fair Firemen’s Parade, organizers want entrants to know that there are some rules about how candy can be given to spectators.
Candy can be given out by people walking in the parade, but Sue Lanich, parade chairperson, said it cannot be thrown from vehicles.
“Throwing from the vehicle was a problem in the past,” Lanich said, “But there is not a problem with people walking along and giving it out.”
