CLEARFIELD – The Sandy Citizens Arguing for Responsible Economic Development, or S.C.A.R.E.D., have filed an appeal.
S.C.A.R.E.D. is claiming that a Wal-Mart Supercenter should not be constructed behind the current Wal-Mart in Sandy Township. However, the Court has twice dismissed the citizens’ group case.
S.C.A.R.E.D. filed the notice for appeal on Friday, but the documents relating to the case were not received in Clearfield County Court until Tuesday.
The group alleges that the Sandy Township Zoning Hearing Board and the Sandy Township Supervisors did not act appropriately when granting Wal-Mart the right to build a Supercenter (a grocery store and regular Wal-Mart) behind the current Wal-Mart in Sandy Township.
S.C.A.R.E.D. has also named Developac Inc. in the case.
