CLEARFIELD – Clearfield County District Attorney, William A. Shaw, Jr., announced Clearfield County’s Fugitive of the Week for the week of July 2, 2012.
Shaw identified the Fugitive as Christopher Joseph Eck, age 30, of Montoursville.
Shaw stated that Eck is wanted for failure to appear at Arraignment Court on May 23, 2012.
On March 26, 2012, Officer Julie Wehler of the Lawrence Township Police Department, filed a criminal complaint charging Eck with: 1) retail theft, M2; and 2) receiving stolen property, M2.
An affidavit of probable cause filed by Wehler states that on Feb. 28, 2012, the Lawrence Township Police were dispatched to a Lawrence Township business for a report of a retail theft. Surveillance at the business showed Eck concealing merchandise and attempting to leave the business without paying for the items.
A preliminary hearing was held on May 2, 2012, at which time all charges were held to court. On May 23, 2012, Eck failed to appear for arraignment court and a warrant was issued for his arrest.
