PHILIPSBURG – The Clearfield and Philipsburg-Osceola Little League 11-and-12 All-Stars locked up in a see-saw duel that lasted more than two-and-a-half hours at Homer Maney Memorial Field Friday evening, and they were knotted at 19-19 when the District 5 Northern Tier winner’s bracket final was suspended after six innings because of darkness.
The game will be resumed Saturday at 2 p.m., with the winners advancing to the potential championship game Tuesday and the losers hosting Tri-County in the elimination bracket final Sunday at 6 p.m.
Philipsburg-Osceola, the visiting team by virtue of a coin flip, held the lead four times while Clearfield had the upper hand at the end of the first four innings but had to rally for three runs in the bottom of the sixth to forge the tie.
Matt Collins, Noah Rumsky, Jake Sorbera, Mike Ternoway, Eli Glass and Ethan McGinnis had two hits apiece for Clearfield.
Included were home runs by Collins and McGinnis and doubles by Rumsky and Glass.
Glass drove in four runs while McGinnis and Ternoway had three RBIs apiece.
Josh Earnest, Gage Coudriet, Micah Martin, Hunter Ammerman and Brandon Anderson each had three hits for P-O. One of Coudriet’s was a two-run homer.
