John W. Reed Sr. 84 of Curwensville passed away June 26, 2012 at The Geisinger Medical Center in Danville.
Born June 30, 1927 in Kerrmoor Ferguson Township he was the son of Harry and Eliza (Bloom) Reed. He was a United States Army Veteran. He was affiliated with the Bible Fellowship Church. He was employed as a Truck Driver and drove for various Local Businesses and was an owner operator for over 47 years.
On July 7, 1952 in Winchester VA he wed Donna M. Hauck who survives along with 5 children John W. Reed Jr. and his wife Deborah of Clearfield, James Reed of Curwensville, Ruth Breth and her husband Paul of Grampian, George Reed, and Kenneth Reed and his wife Gail all of Curwensville. 1 step daughter Donna Jean Bloom and her husband Albert of Chestnut Grove, 19 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren. Brothers and Sisters Ernestine Poietta of LaJose, Harry Junior Reed and his wife Ann of Levittown, PA, Margaret Passmore and her husband George of Kerrmoor, and George London and his wife Jean of NY.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter Jane Reed, and a sister Mary Rammage.
Funeral Services for Mr. Reed will be held at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home, Inc. of Curwensville on Saturday June 30 at 2:00 p.m. with Revs. Charles M. Lee and Kevin Beard co-officiating. Interment will be held in the Troutville Cemetery.
Friends will be received at the Funeral Home on June 29, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., and on Saturday from Noon till the time of services at 2 p.m.
