Fred W. Diehl , 60 of Curwensville died on June 15, 2012 at his home.
He was born on Oct. 7, 1951 in Clearfield, a son of the late Frederick C. and Mary (Kephart) Diehl.
Fred was a graduate of Mercersburg Academy in 1969 and of Colgate University in 1973, Currently, Fred was the owner of Fred Diehl’s of Philipsburg..
He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Clearfield, the Clearfield Benevolent and Protective Order of the Elks Lodge #540, the National Wild Turkey Federation, the Greenwood Hunting Club and the Pennsylvania Automotive Association. He also served on the Clearfield Area United Way and on the Clearfield Hospital Board of Directors.
Fred loved planting trees and was an avid hunter.
He is survived by his wife, Brenda (Butler) Diehl whom he wed Sept. 14, 1974 in the Trinity United Methodist Church, Clearfield; two children, Dr. Thad Diehl and his wife Sue of Clearfield and Katie Diehl of Washington, DC; a grandson and granddaughter, Cash Warren and Sonny Grace; three sisters, Betsy Long and her husband Kenneth, Mary Sue Diehl and Nan Sennett all of Clearfield; nieces and nephews, Kathy Herman, Christi Powell, Mary Beth Long, Michael Sennett and Joshua Diehl; and his mother-in-law, Beverly Taylor of Curwensville.
A memorial service will be held at the Trinity United Methodist Church, Clearfield, on June 22 at 1PM with Rev. William J. Ellis officiating.
Friends will be received at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield on Thursday from 4-7 p.m.
