Myrtle M. Thomas 95, a resident of Ridgeview Elder Care & Rehabilitation Center and formerly of Rockton passed away at the center Wednesday June 13, 2012.
Born Aug. 5, 1916 in Grampian she was the daughter of Cloyd and Ida (Punchious) Mahlon. She was a homemaker, and attended Dubois Nazarene Church.
She is survived by 7 children Rosalie Yerian and her husband Ralph of Doylestown, OH, Kenneth Thomas and his wife Velma of Grampian, Gloria Wiita of CA, Beverly Bailor and her husband Richard of Curwensville, Leslie Byron Thomas of Rockton, Roger Thomas and his wife Miriam of Rockton, and Arlene Paashaus and her husband Richard of Coopersburg. 19 grandchildren and numerous Great Grandchildren, and Great Great Grandchildren. She was the last member of her generation.
She was preceded in death by her husband Leslie J. Thomas, a son David Thomas, an infant son, Brothers Clarence, Charles, and John Mahlon. A sister Viola Spencer and 2 infant sisters, and 2 infant grandchildren.
Services for Myrtle Thomas will be held at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home Inc. of Curwensville on June 16 at 2 p.m. with Reverend Bob Thomas officiating. Interment will follow in the Rockton Cemetery.
Friends will be received at the Funeral Home on June 15 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. and on Saturday from 1 p.m. till the time of services at 2 p.m.
