PINE TOWNSHIP – The investigation is continuing into a single-vehicle accident during which a 41-year-old Rossiter man sustained moderate injuries at 3:15 a.m. Saturday along state Route 153 north of Yeager Road in Pine Township.
The Clearfield-based state police identified the accident victim as Ronald A. Hartless, 41, of Rossiter. He was flown to the Altoona Hospital for treatment of his injuries. He was wearing his seatbelt at the time of the accident.
According to the report, Hartless was traveling northbound on SR 153 when the passenger’s side tires traveled off the eastern berm and into the grass. Hartless attempted to bring his vehicle back onto the roadway; however, it crossed both lanes and across the western berm. There, it struck the guiderails before breaking them and rolling down an embankment in the median.
Police were assisted by the Lawrence Township police and fire departments and Clearfield Emergency Medical Services.
