David A. Porrin Sr., 72, of Falls Creek died Saturday at the DuBois Regional Medical Center. Born June 3, 1939, he was the son of the late Joseph J. and Ruth I. (Sprankle) Porrin.
He retired from RESCAR as a welder after many years of service. He was a member of the Falls Creek Eagles Arie #965, the Olympic Athletic Club and the James J. Patterson Post 813 Veterans of Foreign Wars.
On June 28, 1958, he married Nancy O. (Emerick) Porrin. She survives.
He is survived by four sons, David A. Porrin Jr. and his wife, Kun ; Ronald B. Porrin and his wife, Renee; William P. Porrin and John F. Porrin , all of Falls Creek; four daughters, Sharon M. Lingenfelter of Penfield; Diana L. Gilbert and her husband, Thomas and Ruth Ann Strosky and her husband Thomas, all of DuBois; and Susan L. Porrin of Falls Creek; a brother, Ernie B. Porrin Sr. and his wife Fran of Timlin; 20 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Joseph Porrin and two sisters, Ruth Young and Delores Blose.
Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. – 8 p.m. Monday at the Goble-Baronick Funeral Home
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with Fr. David Foradori officiating.
Burial will follow in Beechwoods Cemetery.
