On May 15, a 28-year-old DuBois woman who was intoxicated instructed her 2-year-old daughter to walk home, where her father was located one block away. When police were questioning the woman, she was determined to be on probation in Clearfield County. She wasn’t permitted to consume alcohol. She was taken into custody and transported to the Clearfield County Jail by probation officers.
On May 15, two DuBois men were involved in a physical altercation in the area of East Scribner Avenue and North Stockdale Street. However, the fight was over when police arrived. No one wanted to file charges.
On May 15, police were dispatched to the seventh floor of an apartment building located in the first block of East Long Avenue. People were reportedly intoxicated and hanging over a balcony railing. Upon arrival the people had left. The incident remains under investigation at this time.
On May 15, a 15-year-old DuBois boy was assaulted at the city park by a group of girls. He alleges the girls stole several items from him. Police have suspects and are investigation the incident.
On May 16, a two-vehicle accident occurred on Hospital Avenue. A 2005 Chevrolet van and a passenger car collided. The van’s operator, a 78-year-old Big Run man, was not injured, while the car’s operator, a 60-year-old DuBois woman, was transported to the hospital for medical treatment. Her vehicle was towed from the scene.
On May 16, an alarm was activated at the Vet Center located on Meadow Lane. Police responded and determined it was an accidental trip by an employee.
On May 17, a 20-year-old Penfield man struck another vehicle with his and left the scene. The owner of the vehicle, which was struck, was in it at the time this occurred. Police were directed to the suspect vehicle by a neighbor who was following it. They stopped the vehicle in the Coke Hill area. Charges are currently pending.
On May 17, a domestic disturbance occurred in the 200 block of McCloyd Terrace between a father and son over the care of the latter’s children. No arrests were made.
On May 17, police were dispatched to the city park for two females who were reportedly passed out on a picnic table. At arrival, police made contact with the two juveniles along with others who were there with them. Multiple juveniles were under the influence of alcohol. One was transported to the DuBois Regional Medical Center for medical treatment. The parents were notified and the juveniles were cited for underage drinking.
On May 17, police were dispatched to the 300 block of South Brady Street for an incident of criminal mischief to a vehicle. At arrival, police made contact with the complainant who advised them that they’d walked outside earlier and noticed the driver’s side window was smashed out. Police have a suspect and the investigation is ongoing.
On May 17, police conducted a traffic stop on West DuBois Avenue. Police determined the operator was under the influence of a controlled substance. The driver will be charged with DUI and other drug-related charges.
On May 17, police were dispatched to a residence on the 100 block of East Scribner Avenue for a reported fight in progress. At arrival police made contact with the persons involved, and one male was intoxicated. He was cited for public drunkenness.
