Ethel J. Ruffing, 71 of Ramey died Friday at her home.
Born Nov. 7, 1940, she was the daughter of the late James and Martha (Brendt) Herman. On Feb. 14, 1960 she was married to Charles E. Ruffing Sr. in Osceola Mills, who died Dec. 29, 2002.
Mrs. Ruffing was of the Christian faith and was a homemaker.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Florence Ruffing; a son, James Ruffing; two sisters, Evelyn Fryer and Dorothy Herman; and two brothers, James Herman and Robert Herman.
She is survived by two daughters, Louise Prevost of Charleston, SC and Brenda Ricketts and her husband, Bryan of Utahville and three sons, Charles E. Ruffing Jr.; John R. Ruffing; and Billy Joe Ruffing, all of Ramey.
Also surviving are two sisters, Betty Krause and her husband, James of Ramey and Anna Mae Herman of Philipsburg; a brother, Sherman Herman and his wife, Donna of Osceola Mills; four grandchildren, David Prevost, Patty Prevost, Jason Guthrie and Crystal Herman; and two great-grandchildren, Nina Walk and Jeanie Walk.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Heath Funeral Home in Osceola Mills with Pastor Kevin Howard officiating. Burial will be at the Umbria Cemetery in Osceola Mills.
Visitation will be from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
