CLEARFIELD – A Philadelphia man arrested after state troopers found drugs in his disabled vehicle on Interstate 80 was sentenced to state prison on Tuesday.
Isreal Marte Rodriguez, 28, was sentenced to three-to-eight years in state prison for possession with intent to deliver heroin. He was also ordered to submit to DNA testing at a cost of $250.
Troopers searched Rodriquez’s vehicle on Aug. 18 after getting a consent to search. Discovered within a black duffel bag in the vehicle were two baggies, one with heroin, the other with cocaine.
The suspected narcotics were field tested and gave positive indicators. The preliminary weight of the heroin was 40 grams, and the cocaine was six grams. Troopers also seized $300 in cash and a 1998 Dodge Caravan.
