CLEARFIELD – A Drifting man accused of hitting a woman’s head off of a bathtub waived his right to a preliminary hearing on Wednesday.
Michael D. Parks, 30, faces assault charges after an incident on Feb. 25. According to court records, Parks and a woman were in Karthaus when Parks allegedly pushed the woman into the snow. She fled to a nearby residence. Parks is reported to have found the woman in the bathroom. The woman reported to police that the man hit her head off of a bathtub multiple times, kicked and punched her. It was also reported that Parks choked the woman.
The documents indicate that Parks left but returned and continued to assault the woman before leaving again.
The woman was treated taken to Altoona Regional Medical Systems for a possible brain bleed. Medical tests did not reveal a bleed of the brain. The woman did have a puncture over her right eye, facial swelling and red marks on her neck.
After Parks left the residence he was the alleged victim of an assault. No charges have been filed in that case.
