CLEARFIELD – On Tuesday the Lawrence Township Supervisors were presented with two land development plans for their consideration. The plans were for the Clearfield Area School District’s improvements to its tennis courts, soccer field and stadium, as well as planned alterations or additions to the Clearfield Area High School.
On the first set of plans, Supervisor Bill Lawhead made a motion to approve. The motion died when Supervisor Glenn Johnston didn’t second it. Johnston stated that he would like to table any decisions regarding the grounds or building until after the school board’s next voting meeting.
Johnston was among those present who questioned the school board’s plan at a meeting in March.
Both land development plans were table by unanimous votes. It was noted that still needed criteria to be met before they could be fully accepted.
Solicitor Jim Naddeo warned the supervisors that what they (the supervisors) are doing, ultimately has nothing to do with what the school district is doing. He indicated that if the plans came in and met spec and code, the supervisors had to approve them.
Absent from the meeting was Supervisor Ed Brown.
