BECCARIA TOWNSHIP – A Fallentimber woman lost her life as a result of an automobile accident on Sunday.
According to the state police in Clearfield, Kristena Martin of Fallentimber was traveling south on state Route 53 when she rounded a right curve. Police said she abruptly approached a vehicle attempting to turn left, driven by Emma Fletcher. This caused Martin to swerve and travel into the northbound lane, where she struck Fletcher’s vehicle.
Martin was transported by Reade Township Emergency Medical Services to Altoona Regional for treatment of her injuries. Fletcher was transported by Irvona EMS to Altoona Regional, where she passed away due to major injuries.
Police were assisted at the scene by Irvona and Reade Township EMS crews, PennDOT, All-Star Auto and Towing, Glendale Fire Department and Reade Fire Department.
