TYRONE – Clearfield Area High School senior hurler Ronny Ogden was very good in his second start of the season, but Tyrone junior Jake Belinda was better and shut out the Bisons for a 3-0 win in Mountain Baseball League Allegheny Division action Wednesday afternoon.
Ogden registered Clearfield’s second complete game with a four-hitter, surrendering two earned runs.
He struck out four Eagles, walked three and hit one.
Belinda twirled a three-hitter with nine strikeouts and five walks.
Tyrone got the only run Belinda needed when Joe Gearhart reached base on an error and scored on Matt Hample’s double in the first inning.
The Eagles added insurance tallies in the second and fourth innings.
Clearfield (2-5, 1-2) has another ML-Allegheny road game Friday against Philipsburg-Osceola.
