Donald R. Stephens, 67, of Clearfield died Monday at his home. He was born Aug. 20, 1944, a son of Verna (Parks) Fundanish of Philipsburg and the late Emerson D. Stephens.
Mr. Stephens had been employed as a truck driver for Wal-Mart since 1997. His family was his first and true love; however, he had great love for his cars, particularly his ’57 Chevy that he restored from next to nothing. He was currently working on a pair of 1962 Impala Super Sports.
He was Christian by faith and attended the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church, Clearfield.
Mr. Stephens served with the U. S. Air Force from 1962 – 1966.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Linda D. (Gabrielson) Stephens, whom he wed Nov. 11, 1977 in Clearfield; three children, Scott Stephens and his wife, Gina of Pittsburgh, Cory Duckett of Clearfield and Dodie Aughenbaugh and her husband, Travis of Jonestown; five grandchildren, Scott and Chris Stephens, Rae Duckett, Breanna and Tyler Aughenbaugh; a great-granddaughter, Cecily Stephens; two brothers, William Stephens and his wife, Janet of Clearfield and Emery Stephens of Woodland; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield with Dr. Duane A. White officiating. Interment will follow in the Bradford Cemetery, Woodland.
Military honors will be accorded at the funeral home by the members of the Clearfield American Legion and VFW Posts Honor Guard.
Friends will be received 5 p.m. – 8 p.m. Thursday and 12 p.m. until the hour of services Friday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Nathaniel D. Yingling MD Cancer Center, Clearfield Hospital, PO Box 992, Clearfield, or to the Circle of Friends of Hospice, Annie Lumadue, 286 W. Pauline Dr., Clearfield.
