George Warholic, Jr, 73, of Atlantic, RD Houtzdale, passed away at 2:24 p.m., March 25, 2012 at DuBois Regional Medical Center, DuBois.
He was born at Smoke Run, PA on April 12, 1938, a son of the late George and Mary (Heresko) Warholic, Sr.
He served in the U.S. Army from 1961-1963 and worked as a machinist for Benjamin Coal Co. and Nearhoof Machine of Osceola Mills and retired from Elmco Machine Shop of Clearfield.
On Jan. 25, 1964 at Madera, he married Dorothy M. (Bloom) Warholic who survives of Atlantic.
George is survived by four children; Sharon L. Warholic of West Decatur; George B. Warholic and his wife Chrissy of Clearfield; Tina L. Tyler and her husband Charles of DuBois; and Valerie A. Hughes, of Ramey. He is survived by 11 grandchildren; Josh, Courtney, Jordan, Skylar, Marissa, Michael, David, Bryan, Kaitlyn, Nathan and Alysia.
George is also survived by eight siblings; Frank Warholic and his wife Martha of Patton; Helen Renbarger of Beacon, NY; Nicholas Warholic and his wife Barbara of East Lake, OH; Margaret Wrobleski of Mentor, OH; Marie Kitko and her husband John of Houtzdale; Josephine “Dolly” Lowe and her husband Ray of Smoke Run; Eleanor Berkstresser and her husband Earl of McConnellsburg; and Gloria Jean Gmerek and her husband Raymond of Philipsburg. A number of nieces and nephews also survive.
In addition to his parents, George was preceded in death by four brothers; Mike, John, Wasco, and infant George; and two sisters, Catherine Raico and Anna Howiler.
George enjoyed making a garden and working in his yard.
Friends will be received on Saturday from 9-11 a.m. at the Kruise Funeral Home, Inc Madera. A Memorial Service will be held on March 31, at 11:00 a.m. in the Kruise Funeral Home, Inc., Madera. The Osceola Mills Honor Guard will accord military honors at 10:45 a.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.
