CLEARFIELD – In celebration of National Library Week, the Joseph & Elizabeth Shaw Public Library is hosting the Picture This! photography contest for all area young adults.
All photographs must be of a building, historic landmark, entertainment spot or other point of interest in theClearfieldarea. Photos will be judged based on grade levels. Students in grades 6, 7, and 8 will compete in one age division and students in grades 9 through 12 will be judged in a separate age division. All entrants may enter up to three photographs in the contest, but may only place one in each category: black and white, color, or digitally altered. All eligible photographs must be size 4×6 or larger and matted or framed for display purposes.
Any student in grades 6 through 12 interested in entering the Picture This! photography contest may submit their photographs at the Shaw Public Library up to Wednesday, April 4th. All entrants will sign a release at the time of registration.
Winners will be announced at an event planned for Monday, April 9th during National Library Week. Entrants and their guests will be invited to Shaw Public Library for a special reception where all photographs will be available for viewing and prizes will be awarded to the winning photographers.
For more information about the Picture This! photography contest for young adults, contact the Shaw Public Library during regular business hours. Contest entrants should bring photographs to the Shaw Public Library, located at1  South Front Street inClearfield, by April 4th. Shaw Public Library is open Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m., Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m., and Fridays from noon until 5:00 p.m. Additional information is also available at www.clearfield.org/shaw.
