A. Kent Michael, 72, of Curwensville, passed away March 21, 2012 at his residence.
Born Nov. 4, 1939 in Clearfield, he was the son of Elmer and Josephine (Hartzfeld) Michael. He had worked for Riverside Markets as a manager for 20 years, and then worked for the Frito-Lay Company as a sales representative for 31 years before retiring.
He was a US Army Veteran of the Vietnam War having served as an MP, had coached the Curwensville True Value Senior Little League Baseball Team and had been a Flagman at several racing tracks for the PA Stock Car Racing Circuit.
On Oct. 21, 1990 in Glen Richey, he wed the former Cindy L. Duttry who survives along with 4 children. Brandi Lin Smith and husband Aaron of Grampian, Amy Morelli and husband David of DuBois, Darlene McClure and husband Bob of Curwensville, and Daniel Russell and wife Sylvia of St. Petersburg, FL.
Also surviving are 8 grandchildren Bailey Dale, Riley Smith, Alexis Donahue, Shelby and Stephen McClure, Terrell Burness, and Devin and Danielle Russell as well as a sister-in-law Mary Michael and 4 nephews Mark and Kevin Michael and Tom and Chris Pentz.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Preston Michael and a sister Joanne Pentz. He was the last member of his generation.
Funeral Services for Mr. Michael will be held at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home, Inc. of Clearfield on Saturday March 245, 2012 at 1:00 PM, with the Reverend William Duttry officiating. Interment will be in the Chestnut Grove Cemetery Rt 219 North Grampian, PA.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on March 23 from 2 to 8 p.m., and Saturday from 10 a.m. until time of services at 1 p.m.
Military Honors will be accorded at the graveside by members of the Clearfield Honor Guard.
