CLEARFIELD – Twelve men and women along with several alternates will be selected Thurday for the civil trial involving a state lawmaker and the manager of a local water authority.
Potential jurors are to be at Clearfield County Courthouse at 9 a.m. Thursday, and after a jury is picked, a trial will be scheduled.
At issue is whether state Rep. Camille “Bud” George, D-74 of Houtzdale, assaulted John Gallagher, manager of the Houtzdale Municipal Water Authority, during the summer of 2005.
Clinton County Judge J. Michael Williamson is to preside over the case after judges in other counties, including Clearfield, stepped down.
A jury was to be selected in October, but on the date of jury selection, GantDaily learned of the schedule change. That switch also forced the trial date to be moved from Nov. 8 (one day after the General Election) to an as-yet undetermined time.
Criminal charges were never filed in the alleged incident.
